Aussies are bigger whingers than Brits on carbon tax, EU expert Jill Duggan says

Since Ms Gillard unveiled her wonderful plans to tax the air we breath out in Australia, the majority of the Aussie people have gone into revolt. Marches have been organised; petitions signed (for all my Aussie readers, press on the link to sign the petition if you'd like to show your support); and bloggers have gone viral. According to the Labor government, taxing the polluters is not going to affect our hip pockets. So, when the electricity companies cop a huge fine for "emitting" carbon dioxide, then apparently they're just going to swallow the loss and not pass it onto the consumer! Yes, that's right - now you can see how highly intelligent our Fabian Socialist Prime Minister et al are. Wouldn't you know it, but an EU expert has also jumped onto the propaganda band wagon, trying to shame us Aussies into meekly accepting our big, new carbon dioxide TAX (which according to our Labor Treasurer, isn't actually a tax, because it doesn't come directly out of our pocket! - told you we had a highly intelligent government). And how, you may ask, is she shaming us?? By calling us whingers. After all, according to Jill Duggan, a PAID pro-warming mouth-piece from the EU, 30 EU countries have had a carbon tax since 2005 with minimal job losses (hahaha) so why can't Australia just support the damn thing? Guess what Ms Duggan? Aussies have a mind of their own - we don't need the stupid, insipid EU pushing another tax on us that we don't believe in. That's why the EU is bankrupt and most countries are having to borrow money from Germany! Germany has wised up and is stopping their green schemes because they've become too expensive to subsidise. So are France and Spain. An article from the UK admits that for every one green job created, four others are lost. These bloody socialist Greenies make me sick - lying at each turn to fool the gullible. They avoid telling us by how much the worlds temperature will be reduced and how they'll get the climate to behave by us paying a great, new tax. The net effect of Ms Gillard LYING to the Aussie public is that her popularity poll has free-fallen to the lowest for any Labor government....ever - the only piece of good news to come out of this whole debacle. She's currently swanning around Washington DC with Mr Hopey Changey Obama....socialists, after all, tend to stick together in times of need.

 

A European Union climate expert has described Australian opposition to a carbon tax as bizarre, diplomatically pointing out Britain's Conservatives were more cooperative in opposition.

Jill Duggan, who managed Britain's initial emissions trading scheme (ETS), said there was an incorrect perception that Australia would be going it alone if it put a price on carbon.

"The thing that struck me is how the debate has changed here and also that wide perception that I keep hearing that Australia shouldn't go first," she told reporters in Canberra today.

"Coming from Europe, that sounds slightly bizarre because there are 30 countries in Europe that have had a carbon price ... since the beginning of 2005."

Ms Duggan also dismissed suggestions that a carbon price would dramatically push up electricity prices, arguing higher oil and commodity prices accounted for three-quarters of the 40 per cent increase in power bills during the first year of an ETS in the UK.

Job losses were also minimal, with the European ETS creating service-sector jobs in the UK.

"I don't think we can think of any jobs losses that are the direct result of carbon policy," Ms Duggan said.
